There are currently live performances taking place throughout the nation. The most anticipated one is Diljit Dosanjh’s Dil-Luminati India Tour, which is scheduled to begin on October 26. For music enthusiasts, British rock group Coldplay has also released a fresh announcement. The Coldplay band will play in India after nearly nine years. Beginning in 2022, this band will embark on a global tour called Music of the Spheres, to which Mumbai has been included as a stop. On September 22, ticket sales for the event were scheduled to begin at noon. However, just before the live sales began, the BookMyShow website collapsed, leaving many dissatisfied. But the server was up and running again quickly.

The Coldplay band is scheduled to play at Mumbai’s DY Patil Stadium on January 18 and 19, 2025. However, a second date, January 21, has been added to the event in response to popular demand. The advent of this band has caused such excitement among the public that all of the concert tickets quickly sold out. Regarding the band, there are four members: drummer Will Champion, bassist Guy Berryman, guitarist Jonny Buckland, and lead vocalist Chris Martin. This group’s manager, Phil Harvey, is referred to as the group’s unseen member. Chris Martin and Jonny Buckland formed this band. When they first crossed paths in 1996 at a London university, they both found they shared a passion.

How did Coldplay come to be?

After Chris and Jonny began performing together, they went by “Big Fat Noises” and “Pactoralz.” A year later, Guy Berryman met the two and joined them. The band then went by “Starfish,” but it changed again to “Coldplay.” The band wrote “The Scientist” for the album A Rush of Blood to the Head, for which Chris practised singing backwards. Four years after the band’s founding, in 2000, the group released its first studio album, called “Parachutes.” The band’s first big hit song was “Shiver.” 2016 Coldplay performed in India as part of the Global Citizen Festival.

I had shot my song in Varanasi.

Coldplay produced a music video for the song “Hymn for the Weekend” in 2016, featuring American singer Beyonce and Bollywood actress Sonam Kapoor. The film was shot in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh.

This video was met with criticism soon after it was released. Nevertheless, it is exciting to watch this band play in India once more after all these years. They are using this tour to promote their ninth and tenth albums, “Music of the Spheres” and “Moon Music.”
