Rashid Khan, a 26-year-old spinner from Afghanistan, made T20 cricket history. Rashid is now the player that takes the most wickets in this format. In Tuesday’s SA20 Qualifier-1 match against Paarl Royals, he bowled Dunith Wellage, shattering Dwayne Bravo’s record of 631 wickets. “This is an amazing achievement,” Rashid stated following his team’s triumph. Ten years ago, I never imagined that I would be able to get there. It is a source of pride to be from Afghanistan and to be at the top of the table. One of the greatest T20 bowlers is DJ (Dwayne Bravo). It is a great honor, and I am excited to keep it up.

In October 2015, Rashid Khan made his T20 debut. He is currently playing in leagues all around the world and is quickly reaching 500 matches. In addition to becoming the only player in Adelaide to play 69 games for the Strikers, he has won one IPL and one PSL championship. His career-best performance during this time was 6 wickets for 17 runs.

Took at least four wickets twenty times

Rashid is a very challenging bowler to bowl to because of his ability to bowl quickly in the air, particularly when it is hard to predict which way the ball will spin. Batsmen had no time to calm down because of him. After a while, teams started to play him with little risk. As he has claimed four or more wickets twenty times, his greatest strength is his ability to consistently contain the opposition batsmen.

Rashid stated last year that collecting wickets was not his top aim in an interview with Cricket Monthly. I make it really difficult for anyone who tries to get me. I do not ease up, but if he still hits it, it is a good shot. The goal is to make the batsman’s job even more challenging.

For Rs 15 crore, the Gujarat Titans retained him on the team

Rashid’s batting has improved during his time in the Hundred, CPL, and BPL. In the IPL 2018 playoffs, he showed his versatility by scoring 34 runs off of just 10 balls to lead Sunrisers Hyderabad to a score of 170. He then took three wickets for 19 runs and made two catches to help the team win. The fact that Rashid was retained for Rs 15 crore by his current IPL team, Gujarat Titans, is a testament to his potential for impact.
