But some cases of this have been reported in the neighbouring country, Pakistan.

Dr Manoj Sharma, Additional Superintendent of Rajasthan’s largest Sawai Man Singh Hospital (SMS Hospital), said that monkeypox is a disease caused by a virus called monkeypox virus. The symptoms of this disease are similar to herpes and chicken pox, and it is also known as M pox.

Symptoms of monkeypox

Talking about the symptoms of monkeypox, painful rashes as big as peas appear on the body of the person infected with this disease. Along with this, problems like high fever, muscle pain, and swelling in lymph nodes occur. In some cases, there can also be a risk of death from this disease. The symptoms of this disease appear about three weeks after getting infected.

How it spreads and preventive measures

According to the World Health Organization, monkeypox can spread from one person to another. Apart from this, this disease can also spread while hunting animals, skinning them, cooking them, or coming in contact with an infected animal. The most important preventive measure is to keep a distance from a person infected with the virus. This disease can be identified through RT-PCR tests. If a person gets infected with this virus, he should be immediately isolated, and the skin should be kept dry and open. Medical consultation should be sought as soon as possible, and one should remain in constant touch with the doctor.
