Maha Kumbh Fire: Many Tents Were Burnt in The Fire Caused by Cylinder Explosion in The Fair Area

More than 250 tents were consumed by the flames from the Maha Kumbh Mela’s cylinder explosion. Although it has not been officially verified, there have been allegations of two people being burned in the incident. The Chief Minister was also questioned by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the accident. It is reported that the fire has ruined commodities valued at crores of rupees. The entire fair area has been warned, including the police and fire department.

On Sunday night, a camp at the Maha Kumbh fair caught fire. Strong winds caused the cylinder explosion’s flames to spread to the neighboring camp. It became like a stampede. More than 250 tents were burned to ashes by the time the fire was miraculously contained by the police, fire department, SDRF, and NDRF.

Yogi Adityanath, the chief minister, was also in the fairgrounds to assess the Mauni Amavasya bathing festival preparations. Additionally, he arrived at the scene of the collision and instructed the officials as needed. Although there is no official confirmation, it is reported that two people were burned while trying to put out the fire.

On Mori Marg in Sector 19 of the Maha Kumbh Mela region, there is a joint camp of Geeta Press Gorakhpur and Akhil Bharatiya Sangh Karpatra Dham Varanasi.

Here, many devotees were lodging in tents and reed huts. It is beneath Shastri Bridge. Around four o’clock in the evening, a gas leak caused a fire to start in Pawan Tripathi’s tent. Chaos sprang out as soon as the cylinder detonated. People began to run in all directions. The police, fire department, SDRF, and NDRF crews quickly began putting out the fire.

Along with the rescue squad were ADG Bhanu Bhaskar, Police Commissioner Tarun Gaba, Mahakumbh DIG Vaibhav Krishna, and SSP Rajesh Dwivedi. Numerous fire department units were occupied with putting out the fire. More than 250 tents were burned by the time the fire was successfully contained after a half hour to forty-five minutes of work. Additionally, almost four gas cylinders exploded.

According to police officials, preliminary investigation has shown that a gas leak was the source of the incident. There have been no fatalities. Along with Urban Development Minister AK Sharma and Water Power Minister Swatantra Dev Singh, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath paid a visit to the scene of the tragedy. Chief Minister Yogi has ordered all levels of assistance to be provided to the fire-affected devotees.

According to Mahakumbh DIG Vaibhav Krishna, a cylinder explosion started the fire, which was quickly contained. The extent of the fire’s damage is being evaluated. The incident is being thoroughly investigated by the fire department staff.
