Konark Surya Won The Final by Defeating Odisha in The Super Over

At the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar, the Southern Superstars defeated Konark Surya Odisha in the Super Over to win the Legends League Cricket 2024 title. Pawan Negi and Martin Guptill were important players. After Yusuf Pathan’s outstanding play, the team failed to secure a win.

Southern Superstars became winners in the powerful Legends League Cricket 2024 final. At the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar on Thursday, they went over Konark Surya Odisha in the Super Over. The Konark Surya Odisha team chose to bowl first after winning the toss.

With 164 runs scored, the Southern Superstars.

For the Southern Superstars, Srivats Goswami and Martin Guptill opened the inning. They were soon given an injury when Divesh Pathania removed Goswami without scoring any runs. Hamilton Masakadza then joined Guptill in the middle. For the second wicket, both of them scored 76 runs. Guptill was then removed from the game after making 27 runs off of 25 balls. For the third wicket, Masakadza and Pawan Negi scored 68 runs combined. While Pawan Negi scored 33 runs in 24 balls, Masakadza scored 83 runs in 58 balls.

With eight balls, Chaturanga de Silva scored nine runs. They scored 164/6 in 20 overs at the end of the innings. With 4/9 in 3 overs, Konark Surya Dilshan Munaweera showed to be Odisha’s best bowler. Irfan Pathan (1/22) and Divesh Pathania (1/19) each got a wicket.

Like in the past, Yusuf Pathan played a strong inning.

Richard Levi and Dilshan Munaweera started the inning for Konark Surya Odisha, chasing a target of 165 runs. Levi added 16 runs in 11 balls, and Munaweera scored 11 in 9 balls. In 24 balls, Kevin O’Brien added 17 runs. The contest revealed Yusuf Pathan’s genius. With 85 runs in 38 balls, he was the only player who could carry the game to the final ball.

After needing two runs off the final ball, Yousuf was run out after scoring just one run. In 20 overs, Konark Surya Odisha scored 164/9. Hamid Hasan (2/28), Abdur Razzak (2/31), Chaturanga de Silva (2/19), and Pawan Negi (2/32) all took two wickets each for the Southern Superstars all over the innings.

What happened in the super over?

Konark Surya Odisha batted first in the Super Over when the game was tied. Konark Surya Odisha was batted by Yusuf Pathan and Irfan Pathan. With the help of a six from Yusuf and a four from Richard Levi’s bat, they scored 14 runs in 6 balls.

Martin Guptill and Pawan Negi batted first for the Southern Superstars, looking to chase their target of 14 runs. In the first two balls of the match, Guptill hit two consecutive sixes to win the match. But Divesh Pathania got Guptill out of the game. But the Southern Superstars took five balls to get to the finish line.
