Maruti’s new SUV has recently been spotted on Indian roads during testing. It is referred to as a Maruti Grand Vitara three-row variant. Concurrently, the company announced in 2023 that it was developing a Grand Vitara variant with seven seats. Simultaneously, a glimpse of the initial prototype has been spotted on Indian roads. The Grand Vitara’s doors, which were observed open during testing, indicate that it is an SUV, according to a report by Autocar. The mirror locations and the window line are fairly similar to those of the standard Grand Vitara. When viewed closely, its third row was also visible at the same time. Where the back has a somewhat longer overhang. Additionally, it appears to have a longer wheelbase than before.

The Grand Vitara 7-seater’s front bumper and lighting, however, appear to have been influenced by the upcoming Maruti e-Vitara. On its top side is a setup for LED daytime running lights. It features the iconic three-dot design of Maruti.

Whereas the bumper houses the primary headlamps. The centrally mounted air inlet and the bumper’s surfacing are reminiscent of the e-Vitara. At the back, there are also full-width LED taillamps that wrap around. Regarding the interior, a freestanding touchscreen infotainment system and a completely redesigned dashboard have been spotted.

Both a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated and a 1.5-liter petrol-hybrid engine are available for the seven-seater Grand Vitara. Expect a wide range of gearbox options when using this engine. The seven-seater Grand Vitara will be produced at Maruti’s future plant in Kharkhoda, Haryana, according to a report by Autocar. Midway through 2025, this new plant will begin to operate. It might also be the first car produced at this facility. The 7-seat Grand Vitara is scheduled for release in late 2025.
