In the capital on Friday morning, there was smog and light to moderate fog. In addition, the minimum temperature was noted to have increased from the day before. This helped to relieve some of the cold. A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department for the days of Saturday and Sunday.
As a result, there could be moderate to thick fog in the morning on both days, along with smog. On Saturday during the day, the sky will be clear. In the evening, smog and light fog are possible. Eight degrees Celsius is expected to be the lowest temperature and a maximum temperature of 23 degrees Celsius.
On Sunday, a western disturbance is present over northwest India
The Meteorological Department states that the minimum level in moderate fog is 200–500 meters. In contrast, the minimum visibility range in a dense fog is 50 to 200 meters. As a result, the Meteorological Department advises using the fog line and driving cautiously when there is fog. The Meteorological Department says that on Sunday, a western disturbance might become active in North-West India.
A one to two degree Celsius increase in the minimum temperature
As a result, after Sunday, the minimum temperature might rise by one to two degrees Celsius, and light rain might fall on Thursday. Following this, on December 27, a disturbance in the Western Himalayan region is probably going to become active. The Meteorological Department reports that Friday’s high temperature in Delhi was 23.3 degrees Celsius, one degree Celsius higher than average.
A 2.5-degree Celsius increase from the day before
At 7.5 degrees Celsius, the lowest recorded temperature is one degree below average and 2.5 degrees higher than the day before. Between 7:30 and 8 am, the minimum visibility in the vicinity of Safdarjung was 300 meters due to moderate fog. The first two weeks of this month saw some relief from the pollution in Delhi, but the pollution has continued to be high ever since. The air index saw a partial decline on Friday. Even so, for the fourth day in a row, the air index was above 400. As a result, the air quality stayed in the severe range.
