Payal Pratap, a designer who graduated from the National Institute of Fashion Technology Delhi, is currently a trending topic after her work appeared at the Lakme Fashion Week event which was held on the 2nd day.
Carrying the theme “Kiss From a Rose” Paayal Pratap was inspired by the past. Payal’s collection is a Spring/Summer 2025 look that reminds of a journey back to nature and also Payal’s memories of returning to something happy and enjoyable in her life.
Payal Pratap carries the theme Kiss From a Rose because in her past she was surrounded by flora and fauna that come alive in her current appearance. Her work always revolves around rich culture and heritage and clothes that are based on her handicraft in the form of intricate thread embroidery, patchwork, prints, weaves, and surface textures.
Kiss From a Rose by Payal features bright bursts of color in the garments, representing a kaleidoscopic vision and fusion of pixelated beauty and surrealism. All of Payal’s pieces were skillfully combined, as in her work focusing on dark anthuriums, bright melons and then moving on to sunflowers, birds of paradise and phlox.
Payal Pratap’s collection at Lakme Fashion Week titled Kiss From a Rose was designed for the confident woman who is not afraid to experiment with her clothes.
Without abandoning the feminine element and prioritizing comfort, the combination of loose trousers, matching sets and wide-leg pants were feminine pieces that reflected the construction of sportswear with rip details.
Meanwhile, the combination of cardigans and sports jackets gave the collection a relaxed feel. Other additions such as pleats, lingerie influences and lace gave a soft appeal to Payal Pratap’s summer collection.
