Babar Azam got injured in the nets during practice with Khurram Shahzad, the video of which is going viral on social media.
The two-Test match series between Pakistan and Bangladesh is going to start with the first Test match to be played on August 21st. Both the teams are seen sweating it out in Pakistan for this series.
Babar Azam injured before the Test series against Bangladesh
Former Pakistan Test captain Babar Azam was hit on the stomach by a ball while batting in the nets against fast bowler Khurram Shahzad. after which Babar started groaning in pain. It is worth noting that Pakistan will play at home on August 21.
It is worth noting that the first of the two Test matches, which is part of the World Test Championship (WTC) 2023-25, will start on August 21 at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The second Test will be played on August 30 at the National Stadium in Karachi.
Apart from the groin injury, Babar Azam was seen struggling against the ball of fast bowler Khurram Shahzad. The viral video shows that during net practice, Shahzad manages to uproot Babar’s off stump with a brilliant outswinger ball.
Talking about the WTC points table, Pakistan is in the fifth position after winning two and losing three of its five Test matches. On the other hand, Bangladesh is at the eighth position with one win and three losses in its four Test matches. Both these teams will take the field with the intention of winning the series to remain in the race for the WTC final next year. However, the host team seems to have the upper hand.
