The flagship streetfighter, the 1390 Super Duke R EVO, was launched by KTM. In light of this, it announced that it planned to join the Indian market’s premium bike class. The exshowroom pricing of the new KTM 1390 Super Duke R is Rs 22.96 lakh. It has a strong twin-cylinder motor. It features the famous angular styling that we have seen on KTM bikes with less than 400 cc of power up to this point. Last year, the 1390 Super Duke R received a global upgrade. Along with a complete modification, it also provided mechanical upgrades.
Power of the Engine
The motor of the new KTM 1390 Super Duke R is a 1,350 cc liquid-cooled LC8 Vtwin. This engine generates a maximum torque of 145 Nm and 188 hp. This comes with a slipandassist clutch and a 6-speed gearbox. In addition, the bike has a “cam shift” system that allows for changing valve timing.
Breaking
The streetfighter comes with Michelin Power GP wheels, and Brembo Stylema monoblock callipers with 320mm front and rear discs give braking power.
Hardware and suspension
The frame of the KTM 1390 Super Duke is the same as that of the 1290 Super Duke R. New 48 mm WP front forks that are completely customised have been added to the suspension. A monoshock is installed in the back for compression damping at fast and low speeds. The more expensive 1390 Super Duke R Evo model has a semiactive suspension system with real-time coping and variable damping using magnetic springs.
Five modes of suspension
Other features include an antidive function that stiffens the frontend under hard braking, five suspension modes (Auto, Comfort, Rain, Street, and Sport), and a ‘Factory Start’ feature that improves launch performance by adjusting rear preload and ride height.
How does the design look
A vertically stacked LED headlamp with new signature LED DRLs, a new fuel tank shroud, winglets, and overall razor-sharp styling are all features of the 2024 KTM 1390 Super Duke R that have a lot of similarity with other bikes in the brand’s naked lineup, in particular the 990 Duke. The subframe cover is smaller, offering the bike a more compact design.
How do the features look
Lean-sensitive ABS, traction control, slide control, and launch control are among the safety features of the KTM 1390 Super Duke. Other features include five riding modes, cruise control, KTM Connect, engine brake control, five-step adjustable wheelie control, and a 5-inch TFT screen.
