The father of Sanju Samson became enraged and confronted KCA.
Sanju Samson, who captained Kerala in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy last year and was a member of the Indian side that won the T20 World Cup 2024 championship, was left off of the Vijay Hazare Trophy squad.
Although Sanju’s father was already aware that Sanju would not be chosen for the competition, the KCA president and secretary said that Sanju was disregarded for skipping the three-day practice camp. Regarding this KCA decision, he stated that he knew he would not pick Sanju and that the choice to bench him was made well in advance of the competition.
The father of Sanju Samson recalled old stories about how KCA had previously denied his older son an opportunity because of his injury. When he requested leave on behalf of his injured son, TC Matthew, the KCA president at the time, ridiculed him, he said.
