On the second day of the first Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Perth, Yashasvi Jaiswal batted exceptionally well. The Indian star broke Brendon McCullum’s world record after scoring an undefeated 90 off 193 balls.

In the second innings of the first Test match in Perth, Yashasvi Jaiswal responded to every query regarding the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. The young left-handed batsman at Perth Stadium had a fantastic second inning after being out for zero in the first.

Jaiswal and KL Rahul had an undefeated 172-run partnership for the first wicket on the second day of the first Test match in Perth. He has now achieved an undefeated inning of 90 runs off 193 balls, surpassing the world record set by the legendary Brendon McCullum of New Zealand.

Jaiswal played a patient innings with just seven fours and two sixes, although scoring runs was not that simple. The world record for the most sixes hit by a player in a calendar year in Test cricket has been surpassed by the Indian star opener with these two sixes.

Jaiswal will surpass New Zealand legend McCullum, who hit 33 sixes in 2014 with 34 sixes in 2024. Earlier this year, he had shattered the Indian record held by Virender Sehwag. In 2008, Sehwag hit 22 sixes.

At the end of the inning, Jaiswal hit two sixes. Jaiswal hit a six over deep backward square off Mitchell Starc after scoring 60 runs off 159 balls. After a few overs of waiting, he hit Nathan Lyon for a long-on, 100-meter six.

The Perth Test’s second day was entirely different from the first. It was really challenging to stay in place on the first day due to the excessive seam movement. However, there was absolutely no seam movement on the second day. India won this Test thanks to the timely batting of both of its openers.
