ICC:ICC Player of The Month Nominees Include Two Indian Players

Varun Chakravarthy’s outstanding performance in the home series against England has earned him a nomination for the January ICC Player of the Month award. He guided India to a 4-1 win while taking 14 wickets in five games. In the women’s division, Indian opener Gongadi Trisha has also received a nomination.

The mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy just won the January ICC Player of the Month award from the International Cricket Council (ICC) for his outstanding play in the five-match T20 International series against England. In five games, Chakravarthy claimed 14 wickets at a remarkable average of 9.85 and an economy rate of 7.66. India, the T20 World Champion, won the home series 4–1 thanks in large part to Chakravarthy. During the series, England’s batters had a hard time understanding his spin.

Jommel Warrican, a spinner from the West Indies, has also been nominated in the men’s division alongside Varun Chakravarthy. In the two-match Test series against Pakistan, he assisted his team in drawing. Warrican, a left-arm spinner, was rated the series’ best player against Pakistan. With 19 wickets, he was the series’ best bowler. In addition, he batted in two games and scored 85 runs.

Noman Ali of Pakistan is also vying for this honor. In the series against the West Indies, he took 16 wickets. In the opening game of the series, 38-year-old Noman Ali took a hat-trick of wickets.

Gongadi Trisha, an Indian opener who won the tournament’s best player award at the most recent ICC Women’s Under-19 T20 World Cup, is a nominee for the women’s award. With 309 runs, Trisha was the tournament’s top scorer. In this competition, she also became the first player to reach century. India won the title for the second time in a row because of her outstanding performance. She will face Karishma Ramharack of the West Indies and Beth Mooney, an experienced competitor from Australia.
