One example is if your favourite artist this year is Eminem, it is a warning sign of psychopathic personality in you. Another example is if your favorite artist is Taylor Swift, then your personality will tend to be more pleasant, extroverted, and forgiving.
On the other hand, for metal music fans, according to research, this music actually shows that metal music lovers are introverts who are actually very soft-hearted, only they release the pressure inside themselves though aggressive music.
If you’ve been listening to a lot of new music this year, experts say you’re more likely to be open-minded, curious, and a little neurotic.
A 2003 study by the University of Texas at Austin found that people who listen to upbeat, conventional music are more likely to be cheerful, sociable, reliable, helpful, and consider themselves physically attractive and more likely to be conventional.
Studies have shown that pop music fans score higher on personality tests for things like agreeableness and extroversion. While some pop music fans are high on social traits, they also tend to be more closed-minded and conservative.

Dr. David Greenberg conducted a study in 2002, the study showed that if there is a love for intense and sophisticated music such as jazz, it will be closely related to openness, creativity, and imagination. However, on the other hand, jazz fans also have less emotionally stable personalities and often experience sadness, anxiety and are easily offended.
Several other music genres are also often associated with neuroticism such as intense or aggressive genres in punk, metal, and hard rock music. Fans who come from these music genres are often labeled as unpleasant or violent.

On other hand, metal music fans are creative, introverted, have high curiosity and gentle personalities. There is no significant evidence that metal music fans cause an increased tendency towards violence.
Finally, according to research conducted by Dr. Peter Rentfrow from the University of Texas at Austin, stated in his 2003 paper that people who enjoy energetic and upbeat rap songs are people who tend to be talkative, full of energy, forgiving, always consider themselves physically attractive and have a tendency to avoid conservative ideals.
A 2017 study found that fans of the song Lose Yourself popularized by Eminem and the song No Diggity by Blackstreet are often enjoyed by people who have high scores for a psychopath. Meanwhile, fans of the songs Titanium by Sia and My Sharona by The Knack are not people with psychopathic personalities.
