Grok’s first native image generation model is called Aurora. Up until now, Black Forest Labs’ Flux AI model was used to generate images on Grok. An autoregressive mixture-of-experts (MoE) network, Aurora, was described by xAI as having been trained on billions of examples sourced from the Internet. According to the company, this model is very good at producing photo-realistic images and following instructions.
