The Champions Trophy 2025 will take place starting on February 19, which is next month. The Indian team has been announced for the hybrid competition, which will take place from February 19 to March 9. On February 20, the Indian cricket team will begin play in the Champions Trophy. Together with Bangladesh, Pakistan, and New Zealand, Team India has been assigned to Group A. In Dubai, Team India will play their opening game against Bangladesh. Following this, on February 23, Team India will play the reigning champions, Pakistan. Dubai will also host this fantastic match. On March 2, the Indian team will meet New Zealand in Dubai in their third and final group stage match.

For the Champions Trophy, Team India will be led by Rohit Sharma. Mohammad Shami and Jaspreet Bumrah have also been included to India’s 15-man squad. Following his injury during the Australia tour, which prevented him from bowling in the second innings of the most recent Test, there were rumors that Bumrah might not make it through the Champions Trophy group stage. But following the team announcement, it is now evident that he will be playing for the team. But Bumrah’s fitness remains uncertain. Ajit Agarkar, the chief selector, stated that they are awaiting Jaspreet Bumrah’s fitness and that the BCCI medical staff will provide an update on his condition in early February.

However, after a 14-month absence, Mohammed Shami has rejoined the Indian ODI squad. In November 2023, Shami participated in the ODI World Cup, his final international match for Team India. Bumrah joined the ODI squad after 14 months, just like Shami. The team does not feature Mohammed Siraj. In his place, Arshdeep Singh has been given an opportunity. As all-rounders, Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya have been selected to the team. The team also includes Kuldeep Yadav. For the first time, Yashasvi Jaiswal has been added to the ODI squad.

The Champions Trophy 2025 will include eight teams in total. Before India, six nations have revealed their teams; now, Team India is the seventh to do so. Pakistan, the tournament’s host, is currently the only team remaining; they have not yet revealed their 15 players. Pakistan is anticipated to make the team announcement shortly.
