A Woman Claims That a Zomato Delivery Agent Mistreated Office Workers Because Her Food Was Delayed by Ten Minutes

After being ten minutes late for her order, Radhika Bajaj, an X user, said that the Zomato delivery agent mistreated her office workers. She mentioned the food delivery platform in her X post on her experience. Ms. Bajaj says that she tracked her order and even made plans for someone to pick it up; the delivery person came there faster than she believed.

“This Zomato delivery boy started misbehaving with my office workers who went to collect it after a 10-minute delay in receiving the order,” stated Ms Bajaj, who has over 10,000 followers on X. Why do not you work on upgrading the behaviour of your delivery workers, Zomato? “No one has the right to mistreat somebody in this way,” she said. Whether they are a delivery worker or a company CEO, everyone deserves respect. She tagged Deepinder Goyal, the CEO of Zomato, as well as the business’s official account.

Zomato’s customer service staff answered by expressing sorry for the painful behaviour of the delivery partner. “This is not allowed, and we want to take this seriously,” they said. Rest assured that we are looking into the matter and will get back to you with an update quickly.

The idea of making the delivery agent wait for ten minutes, however, did not impress many social media users. They stressed that deliveries must be delivered on time and that the delivery agent’s ability to manage multiple orders may be impacted by delays.

But ten minutes is plenty. He has spent over 40 minutes waiting for that money to come and pick up the order from you, so he cannot wait another 10 minutes for just Rs 30. An X user stated, “Tips him well if you want him to wait another ten minutes.” Ms. Bajaj replied, explaining, “We had already made plans for someone to pick up the meal at the time given by Zomato, and he arrived early. We had to make plans for someone else right away because he came early.

Many new users suggested that Zomato add a function that penalises those who take more than anticipated to pick up their orders from delivery executives.

“Give the client five minutes to pick up their order. To avoid hurting the delivery partner, start charging them if they fail to show up to pick up the order within five minutes. The reason is known, but whatever the delivery partner did was wrong. “Earnings,” a person else wrote on X.

Some people are selfish and tardy, making others wait because they believe the delivery boy’s time is useless,” a third user stated. Like Ola and Uber, Zomato has to start charging these users a waiting fee after two minutes.

Someone else said, “If there is a fee, each of these people will arrive on time! The delivery boy’s margins are extremely thin; if he wastes ten minutes on each item, he will not be able to finish all of the orders in a day!
